To configure Data Central, there are certain steps that must first be completed; therefore the configuration of Data Central assumes the following:
- Data Sources have been configured in elluminate to integrate clinical and operational data from an EDC system, including query data, if applicable.
- Import jobs for clinical and operational data sources have been scheduled in elluminate Importer with similar, corresponding intervals.
- If the study allows for two-way communication, therefore allowing for queries to be created within Data Central, the appropriate web service data source must be defined.
- The study has been configured to meet the necessary requirements.
- The necessary privileges have been granted for the user.
Data Central configurations can be copied, exported, or imported. This can be useful when you have studies that have the same or similar configuration setups. Depending on the study you want to copy to, use one of the following selections:
Copy From: Select Copy From when you want to copy the configuration from another study within the same URL to bring into the active study.
Export: Select Export when you want to export the selected study’s configuration out of Data Central. This exports as a text file (.txt).
Import: Select Import when you want to import the exported configuration into a study on another URL. This can be useful when going from a test URL to a production URL, for example.
Use Copy From
Use Copy From to copy a configuration from another study into the active Data Central study. When using Copy From, you are in a study that is not yet configured.
- From the Data Central Studies landing page, select a study that is not yet configured (the study name is in black text, and there is a red triangle next to the study name). Click the red triangle, or click the Configuration icon and select Data Central Configuration.
- Click the Copy icon. The Copy Configuration From window opens.
- Select the study from which you want to copy the configuration using the drop-down list. Note that only studies that have been configured display.
- Click Copy.
If the copy is successful with out any errors, a confirmation dialogue displays.
If there are any issues with the copied configuration in the study, warning messages identifying possible errors display. Possible errors include:
- Data Source selection is not the same for the two studies.
- The same Data Stores are not available for the two studies.
- The same Exception Listings are not available for the two studies. - Click Save to save the new configuration or Cancel to undo the new configuration. A pop-up message displays confirming that you want to cancel the new configuration; click Yes.
Use Export / Import a Configuration
Use Export and Import to export a current configuration in Data Central, including the Graphical Patient Profile, to a text file and then import that configuration into another study. This can be useful when you want to copy a configuration from one URL and use it in another URL, such as Test to Production.
- From within Data Central Configuration for the study you want to export the configuration from, click the Export icon. The configuration automatically exports to a text file (.txt).
- Save the configuration file, or access it from your Downloads folder.
- Open the study to which you want to import the Data Central Configuration.
- From the Data Central configuration view for the study you want to import to, click the Import icon. The Import Configuration window opens.
- Click Choose File.
- Select your file from where it was saved, or from the Downloads folder and click Open.
If the copy is successful without any errors, a confirmation dialogue displays.
If there are any issues with the imported configuration in the new study, warning messages identifying possible errors display.
