Sort, Fix, Adjust, and Hide Columns in Data Central

This article is currently being updated. Please come back later for updates.

Users can customize which fields display in the panel. By default, Domain Review Status, Domain Query Counts, Domain Issue Counts, and Comment Counts display in the panel, as well as all variable columns.

Once the desired column visibility is configured, the user can sort, fix, or adjust those columns.

Note: Changes to column positions and sorting persist until the user navigates away from Data Central, or logs out of elluminate.
Changes to column visibility and fixed column settings remain in place when the user logs back into elluminate and reopens the listing in Data Central.

Hide or Show Columns

  1. From a listing, click the Settings icon in the panel toolbar. The domain Settings window opens. By default, the window opens to the User Domain Settings tab.

Note: Most users will only see the User Domain Settings and Highlights tabs.

  2. To hide the domain Review Status, Query Counts, Issue Counts, and Comment Counts columns from the panel, uncheck the box(es).
  3. To hide variable columns displayed:
    1. Optionally, use the Search field, start typing and variables with that text display.
    2. Check the box(es) at the left of the variables you want to hide.

Note: Use the scrollbar to see all variables.

    3. To display only variables that are checked, click the Toggle Hidden Variables (eyeball with slash) icon at the top right of the Hidden Variables section. Click the button again to see all variables (checked and unchecked).
  4. Click Save.

Reset Column Visibility

  1. Click the Settings icon in the panel toolbar to open the domain Settings window.
  2. To reset the domain Review Status, Query Counts, Issue Counts, and Comment Counts, re-check the box(es) so they 'Show' again.
  3. To reset the variable columns that display in the listing, uncheck the box(es) for the selected variables, or click the Restore the Default Variable Settings (counter-clockwise arrow) icon at the top right of the Hidden Variables section.
  4. Click Save after making changes.

Sort Columns

Most columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order.  Columns that have been sorted will display an arrow (facing up for ascending, facing down for descending) under the header, for easy identification.

  1. Click the column header.
  2. Select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.
  3. To sort additional columns, hold the SHIFT key and click the column header, then select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.

In the screenshot below, the SiteNumber column is sorted ascending, and the Condition column is sorted descending.

Fix Columns

Columns can be fixed to the left or right of a panel, which freezes them, so columns remain on the screen as the user scrolls right and left to view other columns in the listing. Fixing columns is helpful when reviewing data and retaining specific fields for easier identification of each record.

Tip: It is best to fix columns to the left or right first, then sort.

Adjust the width of a column allows you to see all of the text in that column.

  1. When hovering over the header row a grab bar appears.
  2. Click and drag the grab bar to adjust the width of a column.

  1. Click and hold on the column header.
  2. Drag the column to a new location.
