Permissions: Users with Data Central permissions can view configured profiles. To configure profiles a user must have the Data Central Designer or Patient Profile Configure privilege. Users who were assigned privileges in earlier versions of Data Central may have the Patient Profile View privilege to access the patient profiles and Patient Profile Configure to create / manage patient profiles.

Graphical Patient Profiles (GPP) can be accessed from the Subjects panel, and from the left navigation once a row is selected in a listing, and are configurable by study. Possible domains might include: AEs, Exposure, Labs, Vitals, ConMeds.

Access a GPP

1. From the Subjects panel, highlight a subject record.
2. Click the Graphical Patient Profile icon in the panel toolbar or in the left navigation. You could also right-click on the highlighted record and select Graphical Patient Profile. 
   
3. The profile opens in a new window and can be docked to the sheet.

Navigate a GPP

The screenshot below shows a Graphical Patient Profile that has been docked to the sheet and then maximized. 

Icons in the GPP Panel Toolbar

• Next / Previous Record - The left/right arrow icons are used to navigate to each profile; you can also use the Previous / Next Subject (arrows) icons in the left navigation.
• Zoom Out - The magnifying glass with a minus icon is used to return a GPP to its original timeline view. When a GPP is first open, it displays all the data over time. If you change the timeline (by clicking and dragging over an area of the profile), the profile zooms according to the change; clicking Zoom Out resets it to the original state.
• Show / Hide Legend - The shapes icon is a toggle to hide and show the legend.
• Export - The PDF icon is used to export the profile to a PDF. The export may span across pages, depending on its length.
• Create Issue - The tag icon is used to create an issue on the overall profile for the patient
• Configure - The gear icon is used to configure or edit a profile, (appropriate permissions required).
• Maximize / Restore - The screen icon is a toggle to maximize the window to full screen or return the panel to its original placement. Maximizing the GPP allows for easier viewing.
• Close - The x icon is used to close the GPP window.

Note: If data are not available for a particular subject, the profile will show but each chart in the profile will be empty and will display the message "No data points available for this chart." Also, if data are available for one chart in the profile but not another, it will only display the message for the charts that do not have data.

Within each section of the profile, you can view data and / or create issues by clicking on the icons at the far right of the profile. 

Use the scrollbar on the far right to see all items in the profile and hover at the bottom of the screen to see the x-axis labels. The timeline at the bottom displays based on calendar dates or study days, depending on profile configuration. 

Use GPP Features

• Easily see a legend for the Adverse Event, depending on how it has been configured. Use the Show/Hide Legend icon in the panel toolbar. Note that this can be configured to the variable you want, such as Toxicity Grade, Severity, Seriousness, Causality. 

• Hover over a data point or bar for to see the data in a tooltip.

• Click on a data point to open the associated Details view. It opens as a new panel on the sheet which can be docked.

• Click on the View Data icon in the top right of a Graphical Patient Profile section to view the data listing filtered for the subject. This opens in a new window that can be docked and reviewed along with the profile.

  

• Click on the Create Issue icon to create an issue on the selected Graphical Patient Profile domain. In the example below, an issue would be created on the Adverse Event domain for the selected subject. After the issue is created, it can be accessed from the Issues panel. 

  

• Normal ranges are identified by the shaded blue area, typically displayed for data showing findings that can be graphed; for example, Labs and Vitals. Any data points that fall outside the normal range display in red. Any data points that fall within the normal range display in blue. Note that ranges can be configured to reflect the patient demographics or they can be hard coded. This would be defined by the client.

  

• Hover the mouse over the bottom of the profile to see the X-axis.  Scroll to the bottom of the chart, and to change the date range of the display click and drag the minimum and/or maximum date in the range.  After changing the date range, click the Zoom Out icon to reset the profile.
