Compare Metadata

The Compare tab in Metadata identifies differences in metadata between studies for selected domains. By default, schemas or studies and their associated data marts display with no selections made. Staging Areas can also be displayed and selected. Select the schemas to include in the comparison. If a schema includes multiple data marts or staging areas, each displays under the study. Select the data marts or staging areas to compare.

By default, all three filter buttons are highlighted with solid icons, so the comparison results display rows with discrepancies, partial matches, and identical entries.

Click any of the filter buttons to deselect them. For example, to view only discrepancies, deselect the No Discrepancies and Partially Identical buttons.

Compare Buttons

  • No Discrepancies: No highlight, there are no differences.
  • Partially Identical: Yellow highlight, one schema may not have the variable as in another schema, so it is not wrong, but it is not identical.
  • Discrepancies: Red highlight, there are differences in the variables across the schemas.

Export Compare Results

The Compare results can be exported to Excel using the Export button in the master header. Color coding / highlighting persists to the export.
