Users must have the Delete Study privilege to delete study snapshots.
Create a Study Snapshot to capture all study data at a specific point in time. This allows you to access this data version later, if needed. Snapshot data can be accessed in Exporter, the CDA Snapshot Analytics app, or the Mapper (using the mappings that existed when the snapshot was taken). Snapshots are created at the study level.
Create a Study Snapshot
- Access a study from the elluminate Studies page, then select Snapshots from the Details drop-down. Snapshots can also be accessed from the Platform Menu under Study Management.
- On the Snapshot window, previously saved snapshots display first. To create a new snapshot, click the plus sign in the master header.
The Create Study Snapshot window opens. - The Name field defaults to the 'Snapshot' and the current date. Optionally, enter a more descriptive name. Snapshot names must be unique; using a duplicate name results in an error message.
- Optionally, enter a Description to provide additional context for the snapshot.
- Click Save. Snapshot capture begins, and Pending displays during processing.
Note: If the error message 'The study data is being imported or saved. A Snapshot cannot be created at this time' displays, a data import is in progress. Wait for the import to complete before creating a snapshot.
After processing completes, a Successful or Failed status displays.
Important: If a Failed status displays, contact Support@eclinicalsol.com for assistance.
Edit a Study Snapshot
Snapshots have limited edit capabilities. Snapshot content cannot be modified; however, the name and description can be updated.
- From the Snapshot window, click the Edit Snapshot icon for the snapshot to edit. The Edit Study Snapshot window opens.
- Update the Name and / or Description as needed.
- Click Save.
Tip: Snapshot names must be unique within a study. If a duplicate name is entered, an error message displays and the original name remains unchanged. Click the Edit icon again to rename the snapshot.
Delete a Study Snapshot
Only users with Delete Study privileges can delete snapshots.
Important: Deleting a snapshot is irreversible. A confirmation window displays to prevent accidental deletions.
- From the Snapshots window, click the Delete Snapshot icon for the snapshot to remove.
- The Delete Snapshot confirmation window opens. Click Yes to delete the snapshot, or No to cancel.
