Permissions: Users must have the Data Central and Study Configure privileges.
To configure Data Central, certain prerequisites must be completed. Data Central configuration assumes the following:
- Data Sources have been configured in elluminate to integrate clinical and operational data from an EDC system, including query data, if applicable.
- Import jobs for clinical and operational data sources have been scheduled in elluminate Importer with similar, corresponding intervals.
- If the study allows for two-way communication and queries can be created in Data Central, the appropriate web service data source must be defined.
- The study has been configured to meet the necessary requirements.
- The necessary privileges have been granted for the user.
Data Central configurations can be copied, exported, or imported. This can be useful when studies share the same or similar configuration setups. Based on the target study, use one of the following options:
- Copy From: Select Copy From to copy the configuration from another study within the same URL into the active study.
- Export: Select Export to export the selected study configuration from Data Central. The configuration exports as a .txt file.
- Import: Select Import to import an exported configuration into a study on another URL, such as when moving from a test URL to a production URL.
Use Copy From
Use Copy From to copy a configuration from another study into the active Data Central study. When using Copy From, the target study must not yet be configured.
- From the Data Central Studies landing page, select a study that is not yet configured. Unconfigured studies display in black text with a red triangle next to the study name. Click the red triangle, or click the Configuration icon and select Data Central Configuration.
- Click the Copy icon. The Copy Configuration From window opens.
- Select the study to copy from using the drop-down list. Only studies that are already configured display.
- Click Copy.
- If the copy is successful without errors, a confirmation dialog displays.
- If issues are detected, warning messages display identifying potential errors, such as:
- Data Source selections differ between studies.
- Required Data Stores are not available in both studies.
- The same Exception Listings are not available in both studies.
- Click Save to save the new configuration, or Cancel to undo the configuration. If Cancel is selected, a confirmation message displays. Click Yes to confirm.
Use Export and Import a Configuration
Use Export and Import to move a Data Central configuration, including the Graphical Patient Profile, between studies. This is useful when copying a configuration from one URL to another, such as from Test to Production.
- In Data Central Configuration for the source study, click the Export icon. The configuration exports automatically as a .txt file.
- Save the file or locate it in the Downloads folder.
- Open the target study.
- In Data Central Configuration for the target study, click the Import icon. The Import Configuration window opens.
- Click Choose File, select the saved .txt file, and click Open.
- If the import completes without errors, a confirmation dialog displays. If issues are detected, warning messages display identifying possible errors, such as:
- Data Source selections differ between studies.
- Required Data Stores are not available in both studies.
- The same Exception Listings are not available for both studies.
- If the import completes without errors, a confirmation dialog displays. If issues are detected, warning messages display identifying possible errors, such as:
- Click Save to save the new configuration, or Cancel to undo the configuration. If Cancel is selected, a confirmation message displays. Click Yes to confirm.
