The Exploration menu lets users temporarily adjust how a visualization displays without modifying the underlying sheet. Depending on the visualization type, available options can include:

• Reorder data groupings.
• Change sorting.
• Modify the presentation of the visualization.
• Adjust colors.
• Show or hide the legend.

Note: The Exploration Menu is not available for tables.

Important: Changes made in the Exploration menu apply only to the current session. To permanently customize a visualization, duplicate the sheet and save it as a personal sheet.

Open the Exploration Menu

1. Hover over a visualization to view the More (...) and Full screen icons.
2. Click the More (...) icon, or right-click and select Exploration menu.
3. The visualization opens in full-screen mode and the Exploration panel appears on the right.
   

Use the Exploration Panel

The Exploration panel contains several sections. The available sections and options depend on the selected visualization.

Note: Click Discard to remove your changes before closing the Exploration menu.

Reorder Dimensions or Measures

Reorder the dimensions used to group data within the visualization.

1. In the Exploration panel, click Data if it is not already expanded.
2. Hover over the drag handle next to a dimension or measure.
3. Drag the item above or below another item to change the display order.

Change the Sort Order

Change the order in which data is displayed, when supported by the visualization.

1. In the Exploration panel, click Sorting.
2. Expand the sorting option to modify.
3. Select Ascending or Descending. The visualization updates automatically.

Change the Presentation

Modify how the visualization is displayed. Available presentation options vary by visualization type.

1. In the Exploration panel, click Presentation.
2. Select the presentation options to apply. The visualization updates automatically.

Available options may include chart orientation, display style, navigation, or other visualization-specific settings.

Change Colors or the Legend

Change the color scheme and show or hide the legend, when supported by the visualization.

1. In the Exploration panel, click Colors and legend.
2. Select a color option to update the visualization.
3. Toggle Show legend to display or hide the legend, when available.

Exit the Exploration Menu

Click Close (X) in the upper-right corner of the visualization.
