Instructions
- From the Analytics CDA app, open the Lab Summary sheet.
- Click the duplicate button to duplicate the sheet so you can edit it directly, and add a new button to the sheet called Study. When the sheet is duplicated, you will enter Edit mode and be able to modify the duplicated sheet.
- Select the by variable buttons area so it is outlined.
- Click to expand Values from the panel on the right.
- Click the Add Alternative button.
- Give the button a value of 7 since it’s the seventh button, then label it Study.
- To link the data to that button so the visualization will be able to display by study, select the table area so it is outlined.
- Click to expand Data from the panel on the right.
- From the Dimensions section, click in the Column field to expand it.
- Click the field Expression Editor button to edit the data sources for the columns. The Edit Expression Window opens with the existing expression for the current buttons displayed.
Add a comma after the closing single quotation mark for ‘[LB.Standard Toxicity Grade]’, and type: ‘[DM.Study]’ .
Note: OK displays in the bottom left corner. If there is an error, it would display here.
- Click the Apply button at the bottom right to confirm your changes.
- In the Label field, click the Expression Editor button to edit the chart title. The existing expression for updating the chart title displays in the Edit Expression Window.
- Add a comma after the closing single quotation mark for ‘Toxicity’, and type: ‘Study’ .
- Click the Apply button at the bottom right to confirm your change.
- Click the Done editing button at the top right to confirm all changes to your sheet.
Click the newly added Study button, and your lab averages display by study.
Tip: To further filter your results to specific studies of interest, click the Study filter and select those studies from the selections menu. Click the green check button to confirm your selections.
Select any abnormal labs by clicking the name of the lab.
Tip: The lab values are highlighted according to the color scale at the top right of the sheet, which lets you know which labs fall into the lower than normal or higher than normal ranges.
- Click the Green Check button to confirm your selection.
Now you have selected all subjects with abnormal lab results, and can jump to any other sheet to view information related to your selection, e.g. Adverse Event Summary sheet to explore any potential related AEs for the subset population with abnormal lab values.
