Permissions: Standard users can view their own actions and actions related to studies they have View access for in the Audit Log. Administrators can view actions for all users.
All changes made to an item within elluminate are tracked in the Audit Logs as part of the application’s 21 CFR Part 11 compliance features. The audit trail includes additions, modifications, and deletions made within the application. Scroll through the list of operations or use the search bar at the top of the window to limit results based on a specific action using filters.
Note: The Object Data column indicates whether SSO was used during login, allowing clear identification of SSO authentication versus username and password access.
Search and Filter Audit Logs
From the Platform Menu, select Audit Logs under Platform Administration. A list of all log items display. All columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking the column header.
To limit results, use the filters: Date: UTC, Operation, Object Type, and Object Name filters.
Click the Additional Fields drop-down to open the list and select the Study, Object Data, and Created By filters to add to the search bar.
Click Reset or Clear All to clear all filters.
By default 50 rows display; click the drop-down to select 20, 100, 200 or 500 rows.

Date: UTC
Click the Date: UTC drop-down to display the between / and date and time selection window.
Click in the Start Date field and type or select the start date from the calendar. The default date is three months in the past at 12:00 AM.
Click in the End Date field and type or select the end date from the calendar. The default is today at 11:59 PM.
Click Apply.
Operation
Click the Operation drop-down to display the list of operations.
Select the type of operation you want to view.
Click Select All to select all operations in the list.
Use the Search field; as text is entered, the list displays a limited set of results based on the entry.
Select individual operations by checking the box on the left. Use the scrollbar to view all items in the list.
Click Apply.
Object Type
Click the Object Type drop-down to display the list of object types.
Select the object types to view using any of the following options:
Click Select All to select all object types in the list.
Use the Search field; as text is entered, the list displays a limited set of results based on the entry.
Select individual object types by checking the box on the left. Use the scrollbar to view all items in the list.
Click Apply.
Object Name
Click the Object Name drop-down.
Type any part of the object name to view matching results. This field is not case sensitive.
Click Apply.
Study
Click the Study drop-down.
Select the the studies using any of the following options:
Click Select All to select all studies in the list.
Use the Search field; as text is entered, the list displays a limited set of results based on the entry.
Select individual studies by checking the box on the left. Use the scrollbar to view all items in the list.
Click Apply.
Object Data
Click the Object Data drop-down.
Type any part of the object name to view matching results.
Object data describes the type of action performed. Use this field in conjunction with the Operation Type field.
Click Apply.
Created By
Click the Created By drop-down.
Type any part of the user name to view matching results. The list displays all entries performed by the selected user.
Click Apply.
Download Audit Logs
Click the Export icon in the master header to download the audit log. An Excel spreadsheet with the applied filters is downloaded.
