Within a domain listing a user can define a date range to see new, changed, and deleted records. Records identified as new are highlighted green and records identified as changed are highlighted orange. Users can also access a link to a list of deleted records for the defined time period.
Important: This feature must first be enabled in Study Configuration, and all datasets must have identifying keys configured in the ETL tab. (Datasets from Rave automatically have keys defined.)
Apply a Data Variance to a Domain Listing
- Access a domain listing.
- Click the Data Variance icon in the panel toolbar. The Data Variance Filter & View Options popout opens, with filtering, highlighting, and date range options on one side and Domain Details on the other, including Domain Created On, Domain Last Refreshed, and Data File Date.
- Update the Between and And dates by typing over the dates displayed, or use the calendar icon in each date field.
- Optionally, update the time.
By default, the Highlight checkbox is selected in both the New Records and Updated Records sections. Deselect either Highlight checkbox to exclude new or updated records from highlighting.
To display only new or updated records within the defined date range, select the Filter Rows checkbox in the New Records or Updated Records section. Filter Rows can be used independently or combined with the Highlight options to isolate changed records while retaining the visual distinction between new and updated data.Note: When both Highlight checkboxes are selected, records that did not exist on the first date but exist on the second date highlight green as new records. Records that existed on the first date and changed by the second date highlight orange as changed records.
To identify records that did not exist at the first date but were created and updated before the second date, deselect the New Records Highlight checkbox to remove the overriding highlight.- To view deleted records within the defined date range, click the Show Deleted Records link. A separate listing displays the list of deleted records.
- Click Close to close the deleted records window.
- Click Apply in the Data Variance popout. The popout closes, and the Data Variance icon appears active. New data highlights Green. Changed data highlights orange.
