Comments provide a space for ongoing dialogue about a record. Users can add multiple comments to a record and each one is retained and viewable from a panel listing, or from the Record Details panel of a single record. 

A typical use of Comments might be for a reviewer to note something about a record that does not have to be actionable or have workflow attached to it. If there is a need for tracking actions related to the comments, users should create an issue instead.

Any user, including users with a Read Only role, can add and view comments.

Note: Properties, including reason for reopening, reopened by, closed by, and answered by, for issues that were reopened display in the Comments section.

Important: Users with the Blinded Data View privilege see a warning message when adding a comment. To ensure data remains blinded, do not include blinded data in comment text.

Add a Comment in the Record Details Panel

1. Expand the Comments section.
2. Enter the comment.
3. Click Add.

Add a Comment from a Listing

1. Select a record.
2. Click the Create icon in the panel toolbar, or right-click and select Create.
3. Select Add Comment.
   
    
4. In the Comments window, enter a comment, then click Add.

Add a Comment to Multiple Records from a Listing

If the same comment is applicable to multiple records within a listing, save time by creating one comment and applying it to multiple records.

1. Select the checkboxes to the left of each record to add a comment.
2. Click the Create icon in the panel toolbar, or right-click and select Create.
3. Select Add Comment.
4. In the Comments window, enter the comment.
5. Click Add. A note displays identifying how many items the comment applies to.
6. The Confirm Adding Comments window opens. Click OK to proceed, or Cancel to cancel the action.
