Permissions: Users with Data Central privileges can view configured profiles.
Configuring profiles requires the Data Central Designer or Patient Profile Configure privilege. Users assigned privileges in earlier versions of Data Central may have the Patient Profile View privilege to view profiles and the Patient Profile Configure privilege to create and manage profiles.
Graphical Patient Profiles (GPP) are accessible from the Subjects listing and from the left navigation once a subject is selected.
Access a GPP
- Select a subject from the Subjects panel.
- Click the Graphical Patient Profile icon in the panel toolbar, in the left navigation, or right-click the selected subject and select Graphical Patient Profile.
The profile opens in a new panel and can be docked to the sheet.

The following toolbar icons are used to interact with a GPP. Hovering over an icon displays its name and function.
Icons in the GPP Panel Toolbar

- Configure: Click the Configure icon to configure or edit the profile. Appropriate permissions are required.
- Maximize / Restore: Click the Maximize / Restore icon to maximize the window to full screen or return the panel to its original placement. Maximizing the GPP improves visibility.
- Close: Click the X icon to close the GPP.
Note: If data are not available for a particular subject, the profile displays but each chart is empty and shows the message "No data points available for this chart." If data are available for some charts but not others, only charts without data display the message.
Within each profile section, click the far-right icons to view data and / or create issues. Use the scrollbar on the right to see all profile items. Hovering over the timeline displays the x-axis labels, which show calendar dates or study days depending on the profile's configuration.

Normal ranges are identified by a shaded blue area, typically displayed for data showing findings that can be graphed, such as Labs and Vitals. Data points that fall outside the normal range display in red; data points within the normal range display in blue. Ranges can be configured to reflect patient demographics or be hard coded, as defined by the client.
- To adjust the date range displayed in the profile, hover over the timeline at the bottom to reveal the x-axis labels, then click and drag the minimum and / or maximum date in the range. After changing the date range, click the Zoom Out icon to reset the profile.
