Administrators manage the security and password settings for all users in the elluminate account. These are global settings that apply to the entire elluminate environment.
Manage Settings
- Click the Platform Menu (9-dot) icon to open the Platform Menu.
- From the Platform Menu, select User Management under Platform Administration.
- Click the Settings tab in the master header. The security and password settings display.
- Update the settings as needed. For details on each setting, refer to Settings Details.
- Click Save.

| Password Strength Rules |
Enter a Minimum Length from 4 to 20 characters. To require complex passwords, select the Require Complex Password checkbox. Complex passwords must contain three of the following four character groups: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Default Setting: The minimum length is 8 characters, and Require Complex Password is cleared. |
| Password Expiration Rules |
To set password expiration, select Expire every and enter a value from 7 to 365 days. To restrict password reuse, select Can reuse previous password every and enter a value from 7 to 730 days. Default Setting: Passwords expire every 90 days, and passwords can be reused after 180 days. |
| Sign In Rules |
Enter the maximum number of consecutive failed sign-in attempts, from 2 to 9. When the limit is reached, the account is locked. To unlock locked accounts automatically, select Unlock Account after and enter a value from 15 to 350 minutes. Otherwise, an administrator unlocks the account manually. Default Setting: 3 failed sign-in attempts, and Unlock Account after is cleared. |
| Multi-factor Authentication Rules |
To enable multi-factor authentication, select Enable Multi-Factor Authentication, and then select the frequency from the Require MFA drop-down: Every Time, Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, or Monthly. Important: This setting applies only to users signing in directly to elluminate and does not apply to SSO authentication. |
| Notification Emails |
Select Allow non-elluminate® users to allow email accounts outside elluminate to receive email notifications. This setting applies to notifications from all scheduled tasks. Default Setting: Non-elluminate users do not receive emails from elluminate. |
| Export File Naming |
Timezone for Export File Names: Click the drop-down and select the time zone. The selected time zone is used for all data exported from elluminate. Enable ISO 8601 Format and UTC Offset: Select the checkbox to save timestamps in exported file names in ISO 8601 format and append the UTC offset of the selected time zone. ISO 8601 dates use hyphen separators in year-month-day order, with a T separating the date and time. This eliminates ambiguity between date formats such as DDMMYYYY and MMDDYYYY, which can be interpreted differently across regions, and clearly identifies the time zone used for exports. When the checkbox is selected, the date token in export definitions also defaults to the ISO 8601 format. For details, refer to the Export Data article in the Exporter section.
